Welcome back to another wonderful season of golf at
Wawenock.. We are looking forward to another great season of
fellowship, laughter and support for one another.

members were elected officers for 2007. (we desperately need a
secretary!!!)

Paul Richmond has changed titles over the
winter. Paul will now be the General Manager of WGC. He will oversee
all operations at the course. You will see Paul on both sides of the
road during the season. He will have a great deal of responsibility, so
I encourage everyone to help him make the transition. He will be in
charge of all staff, both on the course and in the clubhouse.
Geri McElroy has “stepped down” at her request.
She will no longer be running the day to day operations, but will still
be on the staff at Wawenock. Geri will still be seen often in the Pro
Shop along with many (if not all) returning faces.
New golf cart paths were started and will be
finished as early as possible.
The usual reminders:
You do not have to be a great golfer to play in
this league. We welcome all interested in playing golf. One does not
have to be a member to play in this league but one must buy at
least a 10 play card.
All golf leagues at Wawenock are for nine holes.
We have a new and quite nice communication and news board in the room
next to the dinning room. The handicap computer is there as well.
Please sign up to play in our Ladies League by
Wednesday morning of each week so Carole and Jackie have time to arrange
the teams. We are especially planning for mixing players from week to
week to increase congeniality, equity and fairness to all. Look forward
to some interesting games and contests!
Carts are now owned by the club and all of them
do have covers! It is still wise to request a cart when you sign up
for the coming weeks’ play.
It is important to arrive at 8 am and be ready for
the meeting as we will spend whatever time is needed so that everyone
understands the game being played and with whom they are playing. Our
play time has improved – congratulations – also I heard some very
postitive comments about our league last season. Good work Ladies!!!
The scheduled date to start play is Thursday June
7th, 2007. We
have an 8 a.m. meeting and tee off time at 8:30
a.m. Please be here on time as we have important plans to discuss,
especially if we want to have an invitational tournament.
On Thursdays prior to June 7th you are
welcome to play, our league will not start until the 7th.
Please invite your friends to join our league as
we always welcome new members.
The Bath Country club and its Lady Members will be
hosting a new and improved Ladies Invitational on July 12, 2007. More
information is coming on May 1. (See notice on ur bulletin board at the
club) Only 100 registrants –handicap will be capped at 36.
Thank you and I am looking forward to seeing
everyone on June 7th
.
We’ll hit them long and straight!!!
